Zesty Chocolate Cake

Another of my mom's recipe's and a family favorite.

Mix in a large bowl:
2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 eggs
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
Boil the following and pour over the above mixture:
1 stick margarine
1/2 cup cooking oil
1 cup water
4 rounded Tbsp. cocoa
Mix well and pour into prepared long pan. I use one that is 9 1/2 x 15 1/2. You could use jelly roll pan. IF you use 9 x 13 pan, it will be fine, but you must adjust cooking time. Bake in 350 degree oven for 20 to 25 minutes. It is done when toothpick inserted in middle, comes out mostly clean.

Frosting
1 stick margarine
4 Tbsp. cocoa
6 Tbsp. milk
Bring to a boil--remove from heat and stir in 1 pound of powdered sugar and 1 tsp. vanilla. Beat with mixer--Add more milk if necessary. Spread over warm cake. This cake is so good, it is making my mouth water just typing the recipe.

This is my favorite cake. There isn't a time I can't remember when we didn't have this recipe. Definitely one to try if you like chocolate.
